Site Recycle Bin

You probably know by now that Microsoft has released Service Pack 1 for SharePoint 2010 – and with that the most talked about new feature has to be the Site Recycle Bin.
We all know the horror stories from SharePoint 2007 when users would accidently delete a site and ignite a fire storm between the Farm Administrators and DBAs to get the content quickly recovered.

Now, when users accidentally delete sites they can simply restore them via the Recycle Bin – as if it were merely a document!

We have (or had!) a sub site located at http://SharePointSuresh/sites/testing. Someone has just deleted the testing sub site. Using the new Site Recycle Bin, let’s restore the site:
Click the Site Collection Recycle Bin (Site Actions > Site Settings > Recycle Bin) under Site Collection Administration:

Select “Deleted from end user Recycle Bin”  

Select the checkbox next to the site to restore and click “Restore Selection” from the menu above. Once completed, navigate to the newly restore site:
